So, one weekday morning we decided to go to Jasmine for dim sum. We hadn't been there in ages. For some reason, we end up going there on weekends during primetime when hungover which makes for a less than pleasant experience. But this time, we were in as soon as they unlocked the door. I'm not sure about being hungover or not...
So, the first thing we noticed was the new bright red seat covers. Well, I don't know if they were new since we hadn't been there in a while. I thought that maybe there had been a special occasion over the weekend or something, but it turns out that they have the fancy seatcovers all the time now. Must be a lot of laundry - even though you know they don't change them if they don't look dirty.
Anyhoo, it changed the whole vibe of the place. It was just weird. Also, it was weird because for a few minutes we were the only customers in the place. It had this oppressive feel like in the Shining.
Anyway, we didn't gorge ourselves like usual.
We got the steamed pork knuckle, pork shu mai and chicken feet.
And of course the rice in lotus leaf. And that was all. A "light" breakfast.
And on another note - the Food Pimp is going to Nola this weekend. Saints and Steelers in the Dome on Halloween night. I will be cinderella for Halloween - slaving away in the kitchen at work! Here's a bowl of red beans and rice he made a while ago.
