So, last night, I came home to find out that prime rib was for dinner!  Well, it's interesting, because the FP wanted to do a shrimp berl, but the prime rib was on sale.... So he used corn and mushrooms and stuff.  Then he was going to make mashed potatoes but ended up doing baked potatoes, which weren't ready, so we didn't really eat them.  That was fine, because there wasn't really any baked potato fixins, since the FP doesn't even really like baked potatoes.

It was delicious!!!!  Of course.

So then tonight, the FP turned the leftovers to hash.  Yum!  It looked so good in the pan, but I had an idea....

To add an egg....

Add a little (a lot in the FP's case) Tony's and Louisiana Hot Sauce, and it was just perfect.  Why can't restaurants serve this delicious stuff???

It's funny because we don't like cooking breakfast, and we don't eat "breakfast"  too often, but if we opened a breakfast joint, it would probably be pretty damn scrumptious, don't you think?

While the rain comes down

It's kind of weird, yet appropriate. Yesterday and the day before, while Isaac slowly trudged through the Gulf coast, we ate duck gumbo. We ate it while we sat on the couch and watched the weather channel.

Yesterday, while I was waiting for the FP to get off work late, I went to make groceries. There were domestic wild caught shrimp on sale, so I got some. The FP had suggested adding them to the gumbo because it's mostly liquid.

My first thought - shrimp remoulade. So, even though I was tired and ready to just put my feet up, I made some remoulade. I am not a huge fan of mayonnaisey dressings, except for ranch, blue cheese, green goddess aioli and remoulade. Of course, if u make it with egg instead of hellman's it's way better.

So I made the sauce. But I was too lazy to berl the shrimp. So the FP berled the shimps and then he added avocado and heart of palm. The lettuce was frozen, so no greens. Then he smothered it in remoulade. I mean like he used a cup if dressing for the whole mess.

You know, having lived in Cali for 6 years, we like to eat healthy now...

Ok, this tastes more exciting than it looks. I made an udon and bamboo shoot salad at work with the usual ginger chili soy sesame oil rice vinegar lime concoction, and it was not utilized. So I took it home and the Food Pimp bumped it up with skirt steak and broccoli. Yum
